WELCOME TO THE WEEKEND.

Dishwasher troubleshooting: Why your dishwasher is not drying your dishes

You shouldnt have to towel off your dishes after cleaning them in your dishwasher.

But you also shouldnt write off rinse aid because you think its just made to prevent water spots on your dishes.

Dishwashers are actually designed to use the rinse aid to sheet off the water on dishes to assist in the drying process. So without it, youre handicapping your dishwashers drying performance.

Ive read blog posts about using vinegar and stuff like that in place of rinse aid, but if that actually works for you in terms of helping dry your dishes, I stand corrected (and you can hang me in the comments).

Buy a bottle of rinse aid, and I betcha thats the missing link.

Brighton Shares the Harvest Reaps Big Award

I met Linda through our mutual interests in growing and giving programs. Heres the story of how her desire to get fresh produce to hungry families was the seed that’s sprouted into something big in Brighton:

In the summer of 2009, Linda kept hearing about communities and their efforts to make fresh, local produce available to those who couldn’t afford it or didn’t have access to it.

“We have a lot of families who rely on our local food pantries for supplemental food assistance and fresh produce isn’t always available to them,” Linda said.

So she started talking with pantry directors about their needs and got the word out to local media on how the community could help. Now Linda is executive director of the nonprofit she created called . Its mission
