i spy: sunshine.

i think i must be fighting off the ever approaching winter with all ive got these days. i painted the living room bright white this week (more on that to come) and am decorating with brighter colors to contrast all that snowy white. so today, i spy sunshine.

Days like today put me in a nesting mood. It’s a misty kind of day … the gray skies that bring drizzle all day long make me want to curl up with a cup of tea and a good book. The Great Pumpkin House is a Seasonal Treat

Ive seen a lot of great fall decorating on my travels to botanic gardens, but the Pumpkin Village at the Dallas Arboretum is unforgettable. Over 50,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash complement thousands of blooming fall flowers to create a spectacular display. I especially enjoyed a tour of the pumpkin house.

Not everyone can have a pumpkin house in the backyard, but if you can create your own fall display by stacking pumpkins and gourds near the front door or placing them in a line along the driveway.
