This morning  met up with my client to discuss about the door height( A&A and renovation works)  and at the same moment I was looking at the foreign workers  and something strike my mind  and make think about what happen if we do have all this workers helping us with the project. The people which contribute for the finishing of the project. From desk discussion about the interior design to start of  renovation  and to handing over the house.

Not to say just a small project like a HDB 3rooms flat the among of people and time involves to finish the renovation is also close to  4 weeks to 6 weeks.

The general process of any renovation works

1. Hacking and upload of materials to the job site
2. Connecting a temporary water pt for use during renovation
3. Preparation and cement screed of kitchen and toilets wall
4. Preparation of floor and  applying of water proofing membrane and cement screed
5. Replace of window frames and window panels
6. Laying of wall tiles for kitchen and 2 toilets
7. Laying of floor tiles for kitchen and 2 toilets
8. Laying of living and bedrooms tiles
9. Cover up the floors if necessary
10. Plastering the wall and ceiling if necessary
11. Laying of water piping to kitchen and toilets
12. Laying of electrical wires
13. False ceiling and cornice works
14. Painting of wall and ceiling
15. Acid wash whole house
16. Install wooden doors
17. Install bathroom ware
18. Install bi fold doors
19. Install shower screen
20. install carpentry work
21. Install solid surface
22. Install sink and tap
23. Install lightnings fixture
24. 2nd wash up
25. Check and repair any defects
26. handle over the house.

Now, you can understand ever for a simple renovation like this it also involve so many people and times  in order for the completion of the renovation of the house. Not to mention about the hero behind any great interior design. Everybody from the interior design to tiler or washer play an important part  for the finishing of the renovation and not only interior designer is important but with the hero behind the scene

Remember when you browse through any interior magazine who are the people contribute to all this great interior design. Not just the designer but many people involve in order for the finishing of great design.
